Finally an article and someone that makes sense. Use less through Energy Efficiency not by changing how it is made.

I do my part; and more. Customers come in and ask why some of the lights are turned off. The thermostats are set conservation; if AC is on at all. I (usually) drive 60 mph or slower; if we each do our part, and elect a government not intent of placing blame instead of fostering hope; I believe we'll make it.

Conservation? How about prosperity instead? I do not like it when the government is the one deciding what amount of energy I can use.

THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY IS ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND TOTALLY USELESS FEDERAL DEPARTMENTS THERE IS. IT WAS STARTED SOME THIRTY YEARS TO WEAN THE U.S. OFF FOREIGN OIL. SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE NOT DOING THE JOB THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. THEIR BUDGET IS REALLY OUT OF SIGHT FOR PEOPLE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO EARN A SALARY. WHY SHOULD WE BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY.

Conservation. Who would have thought that this would be an energy saver.

Truckers pay enough now. Do you actually think truckers WILL pay more and not share the cost back on you????!!
Time to stop pointing fingers already!! Take charge of YOUR own driving habits.

They can save more than that if they would force the truckers to pay for the road damage they do. One semi truck can do 800 times the road damage per mile than a compact car. When you figure that a long distance semi can travel 35 times as far as a normal car, the LD semi can cause 28,000 times the damage to roads and bridges than a compact car does in a year.

We have been forced to use the electrical power we do because the government pushed manufacturing and lobbied us to buy all the power consuming products to keep our economy strong. We are then blamed for the high energy usage that companies manufactured into their products and the government did not force them to make energy efficient products. We are always the scape goats of government and industry.

That makes sense if we had fewer drivers and we were all willing to change to our life styles. I remember when we had a one car for a family of four and rarely drove out of town. I don't see that happening for many families today.

"'How do people make decisions? Why at $4 do people drive less, but at $3 they don't?' Savitz asked."
Because they have minds of their own? Because they make cost:benefit decisions for themselves?

Does remind you of the time the river caught on fire in Ohio. When they stopped dumping all the crap from the chemical companys into it well then it cleared all by itself & no more fires....That was a hot lesson learned....
