Hi, about your post re electric cars. I have (with lots of digging) found what the price was to drive an EV. I no longer have the link, but at 10cents/kwh for electricity, it would be the equal to less than $1/gallon for gas. It also talked about CO2 emissions. And the CO2 per mile was about 1/3 what a gas car was.
From another article I read (about a person who has a tesla), they said the range was good in the summer time (warm weather), but they drove the car to Minnesota in the winter. In order to get any range, he had to drive it with no heat. And even then, his range really suffered due to the fact the out side temps were +20F. If you have time, use Googel, and I bet you might be able to find some of the answers you asked.
Seeing that you are in MI, You would have the same issues we do in MN. Too Cold for half the year. :)
