Pump prices falling, weekly report says

The Regina Leader-Post -- OTTAWA - The average price of gasoline in Canada has fallen for the fourth time in five weeks, a weekly survey showed Tuesday, putting the cost down more than nine per cent from its peak in mid-July.

MJ Ervin & Associates, a petroleum-industry research group, said the average price for regular gasoline was $1.272 a litre, down 1.5 cents from a week earlier.

The average had been as high as $1.401 a litre, according to the report that was issued July 15. The price of crude oil has fallen almost 25 per cent since peaking July 11.

Did we all have to wait for the "weekly report" to confirm this mere pitance of a drop?

Gas has come down a few pennies (now down to $3.50) but diesel has come down quite a bit, down to $4.07 from a high of 4.89. That should help the price of groceries.

Hurricane season is here, then the holidays, then spring....They always seemed to make reasons to keep prices up.

All in unison here. Morning phone call to all stations. Drop it 2 cents. Ooops, next day oil rises $2/barrel... raise it 12 cents. We can't see to bust the $3.45 mark. But be sure, all city stations seem to raise and lower in unison... isn't there a law against that?

They're dropping like a rock here. Every day, I enter lower gas prices. When the prices were going up, it usually took a few days between increases.

Fuel prices are down but NOT 'falling!'
Pump prices are taking their time going down but not as fast as they went up.....
Fuel prices rise much faster then they go down!

Yes they are falling ever so slow. I remember prices increasing 10 cents/gal in one day, but now only a cent or two day as it drops.

The oil companies already have all of my money. It has to fall so they can still squeeze the last few pennies left in my acct. otherwise I would have to walk.

With very low gasoline inventories, we’re one refinery accident away from another huge price run up.

Glad to hear it's going down in Canada too. It's still expensive to drive there and with it so spread out, little mass transit to help unless you live on a metro line

Falling so much slower than they went up - sometimes 20¢ per day.
